About The Release Room

You’re allowed to let go here

Our Purpose

Most people are carrying more than they can say out loud. Work expectations. Family stress. Responsibility for other people’s emotions. Boundary guilt. Caregiver fatigue.

The Release Room exists because you need somewhere to put all of that — without being told to “calm down,” “focus on the positive,” or “be professional.”

We create a safe, contained, professionally guided space for emotional release so you can steady yourself and keep moving through your life without breaking.

What We Do

We host virtual individual and small-group sessions that give you structured time to unload, regulate, and reset.

  • You can talk or just listen
  • Cameras are optional
  • You are never pressured to disclose more than you want
  • You’ll leave with at least one grounding tool to help you manage the rest of your day This is judgment-free space, facilitated by a licensed mental health therapist, designed to support emotional release in real time.

What We Are Not

We are intentionally not traditional therapy.

The Release Room is not treatment, diagnosis, counseling, crisis intervention, or a substitute for ongoing mental health care. It’s a pressure valve — not a long-term clinical plan. If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please call 988 or contact local emergency services immediately.

Who We Serve

We support adults 18+ in high-pressure roles and seasons of life: caregivers, parents, students, and professionals on the edge of burnout. Our work is especially valuable for people who feel like they “have to hold it together” for everyone else.

Our Founder

The Release Room, LLC was created by Kathy Salinger, a licensed mental health therapist. The vision was simple: make it easier for overwhelmed, responsible, quietly-struggling adults to access real-time relief without having to explain their entire life story first.

Our sessions are intentionally small, private, and human. Limited seats help keep each space contained, respectful, and focused on what you need in that moment.

You deserve somewhere to feel

how heavy it really is
